The redevelopment includes significant elements such as a 30-acre landfill with an 800-foot long concrete, pile-supported wharf, a 3-acre landfill with a 600-foot long wharf extension, a temporary berth, container yard, terminal gate facilities, and new buildings for gate operations and truck driver check-in. Additional upgrades include rail yard renovations, redevelopment of a 300-acre backland, terminal electrification, and shore side power infrastructure for ships. The project also involves environmental remediation and compliance with the Port of Long Beach Green Port Policy and San Pedro Bay Clean Air Action Plan.
