The Orange Street Bridge over Plunge Creek project involves the PA/ED and PS&E phasing, with IDC as the Prime Consultant responsible for comprehensive project management. The project includes the replacement of the existing two-lane bridge with a new four-lane bridge incorporating multimodal facilities. This project is part of the Federal Highway Bridge Program, focusing on bridge design, transportation funding, and coordination with various agencies.

IDC’s role

IDC is delivering full PA/ED and PS&E services, managing the project's overall funding strategy, and overseeing the Local Assistance Programming processes. Key staff include Wendy Li, P.E., as Project Manager, and Xiaoyun Wu, Ph.D., P.E., as Engineer of Record (Structures). The project's scope extends to bike path design, local and resource agency coordination, construction phasing, and utility and stakeholder coordination. IDC's work constitutes an estimated 65% of the total design cost, aligning with the city's vision of creating a cohesive highway connector with multimodal capacity.
