The Link Union Station (Link US) project aims to transform Los Angeles Union Station from a stub-end station into a run-through station by extending tracks over the US-101 freeway. This design-build project includes several major improvements, such as new run-through tracks, reconfiguration of station entry tracks and rail yard, construction of a passenger concourse with retail and amenities, a new loop track for operational flexibility, and accommodation for future transportation options, including California High-Speed Rail.
The project involves collaboration among multiple agencies, including LA Metro, the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA), California High-Speed Rail Authority (CHSRA), Metrolink, Amtrak, and Caltrans, to ensure successful implementation.
